Bring along your favourite Jellycat to use as inspiration while you make. Don’t have one? No problem, you can still join in and create your own character.
MAKE IT IN CLAY
With guidance from your tutor, you’ll learn how to shape and sculpt your own clay version of your Jellycat.
PAINT & PERSONALISE
Once you’ve finished building, bring your character to life with colourful underglazes and plenty of personality.
FIRING INCLUDED
Leave your creation with us and we’ll take care of the glazing and firing. Your finished piece will be ready to collect from Henfield Pottery in approximately 3–4 weeks.

No experience needed. Just bring your favourite Jellycat or meet ours, and bring your imagination. Age 10+
Please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a little dusty.
Closed-toe shoes are recommended.

Fingernails are best kept fairly short when working with clay.
Your work will need time to dry and be fired after the course. We'll let you know as soon as it's ready to collect.
Pottery is wonderfully unpredictable! While we take every care throughout the firing process, occasionally pieces can crack or break, and unfortunately this is part of working with ceramics.

Do I need to bring my own Jellycat?
We’d love you to! Bringing your own Jellycat gives you something to work from while you're sculpting. If you don't have one don’t worry because we have lots of Jellycat friends that are invited, you can still take part and create your own Jellycat-inspired character.
Is everything included?
Yes. Your clay, use of tools, underglazes, glazing and firing are all included in the £30 workshop price.
When will my clay Jellycat be ready?
Your finished piece should be ready to collect approximately 3–4 weeks after the workshop. We'll let you know when it's ready.
Does an accompanying adult need to book?
If the adult is simply accompanying and supervising a child rather than making their own piece, they don't need to purchase a separate workshop place. If they'd like to make their own Jellycat too, they'll need their own £30 place. Our staff are DBS checked.

Do I need any pottery experience?
Not at all. This workshop is designed to be fun and accessible, and we will guide you through the making process step by step.
Do I take my Jellycat home on the day?
Your real Jellycat definitely goes home with you! Your clay Jellycat will need to stay with us to dry before being glazed and fired.
What should I wear?
Pottery can get messy, so wear comfortable clothes that you don't mind getting a little clay on. We recommend short nails for easier sculpting and tying long hair back.
