CLAY PLAY

Bring your favourite people and get your hands into clay! Join us at Henfield Pottery for a relaxed family workshop inspired by the shapes, textures and little wonders of nature.

Choose from our nature-inspired examples, then make them your own. You’ll have 90 minutes to shape, press, decorate and create one small pottery piece each, with friendly guidance along the way.

Grown-ups get to join in too. It’s a chance to spend time together, try something creative and make a keepsake to treasure.

A relaxed 90 minutes of getting creative with clay, inspired by nature!

We’ll start with a short demonstration before you choose from our nature themed examples and create your own small pottery piece. Explore textures, add patterns and decorate with a little colour, with our tutor on hand to guide you.

Adults and children make together, with grown ups helping younger makers along the way. No pottery experience is needed, and there’s plenty of room to add your own ideas.

Your £15 ticket includes all materials, decoration, glazing and firing of one small piece. Afterwards, your creations will stay with us to dry and be fired. We’ll email when they’re ready to collect, usually around four to six weeks later.

No experience needed. If you or your child have any access or support needs, please get in touch before booking so we can talk through what would help.

Please wear comfortable clothing that you don't mind getting a little dusty.
Closed-toe shoes are recommended.
Long hair tied back.
Fingernails are best kept fairly short when working with clay.
Children must be supervised at all times.
Your work will need time to dry and be fired after the course. We'll let you know as soon as it's ready to collect.
Pottery is wonderfully unpredictable! While we take every care throughout the firing process, occasionally pieces can crack or break, and unfortunately this is part of working with ceramics.

Booking T&C's

Please book one ticket for every adult and child attending. One adult and one child costs £30, or a family of four costs £60.

Children must remain with their accompanying adult throughout, with a maximum of two children per adult. Adults take part too and help younger children along the way.

Wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little clay on and closed toe shoes. Please arrive five minutes before your session so we can start together.

Your pottery will stay at the studio to be finished and fired. We’ll contact you when it’s ready for collection.
